The goal of the Mentor Program is to provide technical assistance and advice to new SBOs. NYSASBO’s Mentor Program is one component of the Association’s comprehensive efforts (SDBL/Civil Service Exam Study Guides, Job Postings, SBO Leadership Academy, Education Summit, and more) to provide support to our members at every stage in their career.

How it Works
NYSASBO members are eligible to become mentors by completing the simple application process and watching a short training video that helps prepare them to be a successful mentor. At the Education Summit and Expo, mentors will be recognized and rewarded for their efforts on behalf of a new generation of school business officials.
There are no requirements for being a mentee other than membership in NYSASBO. To request a mentor, send an email to Michael Borges at firstname.lastname@example.org and provide your email and phone number for him to contact you.
Mentors are paired with mentees based on geographic location and similar job responsibilities. Mentors set the parameters of their availability, but commit no less than one hour per week of contact time with their mentee.
