About: The Education Summit & Expo is held in June every year and offers a wide array of educational programs on topics of interest to school business officials as well as a Trade Show that showcases the very best services and products available to school districts.  The 3 ½ day event offers at least 23 hours of continuing education credit toward meeting state certification requirements for School District Business Leaders (SDBLs) and up to 15 hours of CPE credit for Certified Public Accountants.

An invitation to attend...

"Please accept this invitation on behalf of myself and NYSASBO Executive Director Michael Borges to attend the 69th Education Summit & Expo in beautiful Lake Placid, New York. We are excited to bring fellow business officials and partners together to challenge ourselves, learn from one another, and most importantly sustain and enhance opportunities for children across the state.

This year’s theme, Maxima Debetur Puero Reverentia, is central to our purpose as school business officials and may require translation using your favorite internet search engine. Please look it up and apply its meaning to your own circumstances in life and at work."

Education Summit Scholarship Fund

In 2015, NYSASBO created the Education Summit Scholarship Fund to give new School Business Officials (or active/institutional/SBO staff members who have not attended the conference in the past three years or if their school district budget was defeated the previous year) the opportunity to attend the conference. The scholarship will cover the cost of registration and hotel.

The purpose of this Scholarship Fund is to address the main reason (budgetary constraints) that school business office staff cannot attend the Education Summit and Expo. Recipients will also be invited to attend the Past Presidents and Future Leaders Reception on Sunday at the conference to mix and mingle with other recipients, fund sponsors, and the association's leaders.

If you are interested in applying for the Education Summit Scholarship, please fill out the application form and tell us why you have not attended in the past and why you wish to attend this year:

Click here to apply. Updated Application Deadline: April 21.

Thank you to the following companies for their generous support of the Education Summit Scholarship Fund: Utica National Insurance Group (7); NYSIR (7); The Omni Group (2); Finance Manager (2); NBT Bank, N.A. (1); The NYBEST Agency (1); Pupil Benefits Plan, Inc. (1); NYLAF (1). (Updated 3/30/17)

All meals are included with the Active/Institutional/SBO Staff Member Package, Honorary Life Member Package, and Non-Member Package.
