Starting off the week is the Special Interest Groups webinar on 1/26 at 2pm. Learn to define and identify groups within your district and their ability to affect policy decisions, as well as best practices of interacting with these groups. The Behind the Scenes of Accounts Payable workshop is taking place in Westbury - put on by NYSASBO and the Nassau Chapter is Thursday, 1/28. This workshop will give you 3 CPE credits, in addition to the 3 Institute Hours. You will get the big picture view of your school district’s accounts payable process. You will also become familiar with New York State laws as well as the details needed to accurately process accounts.  read more »

Planning for the Budget Vote - Dec. 14 Monthly Planner: January Edition Webinar

The budget vote is the critical event in the school year. Not only do you need to meet all the NYS requirements, you need to communicate the budget to your voters—and there are rules for who can present the information and how that information can be communicated. Tracking School Business Management Institute Courses is Done for You

All NYSASBO programs, conferences, webinars, and workshops you attend are credited to your School Business Management Institute Certificates. You do not have to keep track of your professional development record since it is done automatically when you are enrolled in the NYSASBO School Business Management Institute. Your transcript will be available to you with a few keystrokes as an enrolled member of the Institute. Enrollment is easy and is a member benefit as long as you or someone in your school business office has a NYSASBO membership.
