Allows Carry-Over of Unused C4E Funds
S.433/A.3087 - Allows districts that did not spend all C4E funds because the contracts were approved after the beginning of the 2007-2008 school year to utilize those funds during the succeeding two years. The bill also prohibits, beginning in 2009-2010, the state from cutting dedicated C4E funds mid-year.
Streamlining of Reporting for School Districts and BOCES

Transfer of Reserves for Tax Relief
A.1910A - Allows a school board to liquidate a surplus in a reserve for the purpose of providing property tax relief. This is similar to the proposal included in the Governor's 2009-2010 Executive Budget proposal and was introduced in direct reaction to the Comptroller's EBALR Audit. Tenure Equity for School District Administrators
A.1354 - The bill reduces from 3 years to 2 years the probationary period for an administrator who has tenure in one district but moves to another. Teachers in this situation currently have a 2 year probationary period. STATUS: in Assembly Education Committee.
Requires "Tax Rate" on Property Tax Report Card
A.1143 - Requires that school districts provide a proposed "tax rate" on the Property Tax Report Card. STATUS: In Assembly Education Committee
Establish an Energy Reserve for School Districts and BOCES
A961 - This bill would allow school districts to create an energy reserve fund, which would allow school districts to accumulate funds to pay for the excess costs of energy from this fund.
