NYSASBO Issues $15,740.77 in Rebates for p-Card Usage
On Tuesday, June 14, 2016 NYSASBO hosted a breakfast as part of the Education Summit & Expo dedicated to all things p-Card. The topic of the well-attended breakfast was School District Credit Cards: Minimizing Risk, Maximizing Rewards.
The NYSASBO p-Card program, which is endorsed by both the New York Council of School Superintendents (The Council) and the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA), is part of a national p-Card program originally designed by Illinois ASBO for school business officials.
Holly Wallace of Illinois ASBO led a panel discussion with Kevin Noren of BMO Harris Bank and founding p-Card users Lynn Chase of ONC BOCES and Carol Stein.
Both Chase and Stein have been instrumental in helping NYSASBO educate other school business officials about the use of p-Cards in school districts and BOCES.
At the end of the breakfast, NYSASBO awarded rebate certificates with a combined total of $15,740.77 to the seven districts and BOCES who qualified for a rebate by simply using their NYSASBO p-Card for everyday purchases ranging from school supplies to travel to utility bills.
If your district or BOCES isn't making money on everyday purchases or to pay bills, you’re losing out on an easy revenue source.
