Recent legislation at the federal and state level requires Medicaid- funded providers to develop and implement an effective Compliance Program. Providers who fail to comply with the regulations face significant risk of fines, penalties, and loss of Medicaid funding. This is not the time to take a cookie-cutter approach in developing your Compliance Program. For the Program to be effective, and withstand the scrutiny of an audit, it must be practical, scalable to your district, affordable, attainable, and enforceable.
