Free Cyber Crime Seminar Registration Now Open

New York Schools Insurance Reciprocal (NYSIR) is working with NYSASBO to offer a free Cyber Crime Seminar that addresses the issues, causes, and steps to reduce exposure arising out of the cyber crimes several New York State public schools have recently experienced. Presenters will be from the FBI & New York State Police Cyber Crime Units, J. P. Morgan Chase Bank, and the NYSIR Risk Management Staff. All seminars have registration at 8:30 a.m. and the program runs from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with lunch following.  read more »

OGS Announces Price Reduction Program for State Contract Users

New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Commissioner John C. Egan announced that OGS is assisting state contract users to achieve savings on state contract purchases through the implementation of the OGS Price Reduction Program.  OGS recognizes that looming economic pressures and severe budget restrictions necessitate maximizing the budgets of public entities and nonprofit organizations.   read more »

NYS Police Special Victims Unit Sponsoring a National Missing Children's Day Poster Contest - Deadline Extended

NYSASBO has been requested by the NYS Police Special Victims Unit to assist in the distribution of the following information relating to the National Missing Children's Day Poster Contest, in hopes to heighten awareness of issues such as child abductions. This contest is for 5th graders across the state. We ask that you forward this information on to your District Superintendents and elementary schools in your district. Thank you for your assistance.
